猫舌(Cat Tongue)

2012/02/12 Sun

I'm writing journals on lang-8 to improve my English.
Here I rewrite them according to the corrections made by the kind native speakers.

------------------

猫舌(Cat Tongue)

I have a tongue that's very sensitive to heat.
That kind of tongue is called "猫舌(a cat tongue)" in Japanese.

Is it true that cats can't eat or drink things that are very hot?

I googled it.

A cat smells food before eating to check if it's safe or not.
At the same time he can detect the food's temperature with his nose.
So he can judge whether it's too hot to eat, or cool enough.

That's why a cat burning his tongue would never happen.

As a result, I'm not sure how hot things that cats can eat or drink can be.
Anyway I usually heat my coffee using a microwave to 53 degrees centigrade.

Standing In The Cold

I'm writing journals on lang-8 to improve my English.
Here I rewrite them according to the corrections made by the kind native speakers.

Standing In The Cold

This morning while I was watching my daughter going towards the station, she looked back again and again and waved to me as if she was waiting to see how long I'd stay there.
I finally stayed out in the cold weather until she was out of sight.

That's rare for her, but I understood she did that for fun.

Standing in the cold watching my daughter and sometimes waving to each other is not bad :)

Freshly Baked Bread

I'm writing journals on lang-8 to improve my English.
Here I rewrite them according to the corrections made by the kind native speakers.

------------------

Freshly Baked Bread

I have a breadmachine at home.
I use it very often.
Freshly baked bread is so delicious, you know, and my younger daughter loves it very much.

Last evening after dinner I had just finished baking a loaf of bread and I asked her, "Why don't you have some?"
"Sure."
She had a quarter of a loaf.

Then she murmured, "I feel like having a little more." and had another quarter.

Two hours later, after bathing, I heard the same phrase from her again.
She finally had the other quarter loaf.

As a result, she had three-quarters of the loaf of bread AFTER HAVING DINNER!

Being young is wonderful!

Lost Season Ticket

Lost Season Ticket

My daughter called me from the station on the way to school this morning.
She seemed to have lost her season ticket.
I told her to buy a ticket and tell the station staff.

In the afternoon I received a telephone call from the station.
He told me that somebody had turned in my daughter's season ticket to the station.

So my daughter could pick it up on her way home.
Well, I felt relieved.
